Why Ranked Choice Voting?

Ranked Choice Voting, also known as Instant Runoff Voting, encourages more participation from both voters and candidates. On top of that, RCV can also save money by simplifying the election process.
Ranked Choice Voting allows more candidates to run in general elections, meaning all voters can have an option who represents their views. More candidates means more voices, and more voices means a stronger, more vibrant democracy.
RCV improves voter turnout by ensuring that everyone can vote for a candidate they are passionate about.
Opening the field of candidates beyond just two people helps limit the negativity of campaigns. Candidates are less likely to stoop to personal attacks when they have to prove that they are the best of several options.
